Welcome Home Alliance for Veterans

Thursday mornings at 8 a.m. bring the smell of fresh coffee and donuts to our doors, a simple ritual where veterans gather to connect before the day begins. This is the heartbeat of Welcome Home Alliance for Veterans, also known as the Warrior Resource Center, in Montrose. We provide a dedicated space for giving and receiving kindness, focusing on the specific needs of active-duty military, veterans, and their families. Approximately 80 to 90 percent of the veterans we serve are low to moderate income individuals or families, and we tailor our resources to bridge the gaps in their daily lives. Our services span benefit assistance, housing support, mental health counseling, moral injury support, and help with Military Sexual Trauma (MST), alongside addressing food insecurities. Veterans wondering what their next move should be, those down on hard times, or anyone simply needing someone to talk to find assistance here. We foster a sense of community and purpose through regular events, including Friday night open jam sessions featuring talented local musicians of all ages. Our office operates Monday through Friday, and while we adapted to the pandemic by shifting to appointment-only visits to protect our senior veterans, we remain accessible by phone and in person to ensure no one faces their challenges alone.
