West Campground

Mancos State Park anchors its campground in a mature ponderosa pine forest overlooking Jackson Gulch Reservoir, offering a base for year-round outdoor enthusiasts just outside Mancos. The facility features 32 campsites, with 23 situated on the south side of the reservoir and nine on the northwest side, all designed primarily for tent campers. While there are no electrical hookups, showers, or drinking water at the sites themselves, amenities include vault toilets, fire pits, picnic tables, and spigots for filling jugs with potable water. Firewood is available for purchase, and a dump station is on-site. Two insulated yurts with circular skylights and ceiling fans provide a comfortable alternative to traditional camping, available for reservation year-round. Reservations are required for both campsites and yurts and can be secured online or by phone up to six months in advance. The park allows leashed dogs and service animals, and horses are permitted. During the current Montezuma County fire ban, wood burning is prohibited, though charcoal and gas grilling are allowed in designated rings. The park operates daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., with a visitor center open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entrance fees range from $10 to $15 for a daily vehicle pass.
