At 1142 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 20 miles north of Fruita, or 27 miles northwest of Grand Junction, moving northeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation and outdoor objects is possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern Garfield and southwestern Rio Blanco Counties.

This includes Colorado 139 between mile markers 17 and 32, and between mile markers 35 and 40.
