US-40W closed

Between Duckels-Bettger Pit Road (2 miles west of the Steamboat Springs area) and Old US 40 (2 miles east of the Hayden area) from Mile Point 126 to Mile Point 112. Road construction. Alternating traffic. Starting July 28, 2026 at 7:00PM MDT until July 29, 2026 at about 6:00AM MDT. Full schedule below: • July 28, 7:00PM - July 29, 6:00AM Comment: Nighttime paving operations are from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Pilot cars are leading vehicles through the work zone. Vehicles will be reduced to a single-lane, alternating traffic intermittently in either direction, throughout the duration of the project Lane closures, guided by flaggers, will have up to 10-minute delays. The speed limit will be reduced to 40 mph through the work zone. The project is expected to last until the middle of November.
