Community leaders, advocates, and residents will gather for the 7th Judicial District Domestic Violence Task Force Gala on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Montrose Pavilion. The event is focused on raising funds to develop long-term housing that will help break the cycle of abuse.
San Juan Landing is a 10-unit domestic violence housing development with comprehensive onsite programming supporting survivors, their families, and their pets.
According to 2025 community data, the 7th Judicial District Domestic Violence Task Force recorded 441 domestic violence cases, with only five dismissals. The cost of maintaining the current crisis response infrastructure is approximately $4.2 million annually. A longer-term housing solution could be achieved with an investment of $1.75 million.
“Over the past decade, our community has faced significant challenges in securing both immediate and long-term housing for domestic violence survivors,” stated Chantelle Bainbridge, Domestic Violence Task Force Co-Chair. “By collaborating with CASA, community agencies, and non-profits, we have developed a strategic plan for a facility that includes programs specifically designed to bridge systemic gaps and empower survivors to achieve independent, abuse-free lives.”
This initiative fills a crucial gap in community resources and offers survivors a foundation for rebuilding their lives.
“We are stepping forward not only to raise awareness, but to build a sustainable solution that provides safety and community support where it is desperately needed,” explained Carlton Mason, CEO of CASA of the 7 th Judicial District.
