NEW THIS FALL! Beat & Step: West African Dance & Drumming with Mr. Etienne (performing in Nutcracker Remixed)
Looking for something truly different this fall? Join Mr. Etienne Tolno, a native of Guinea, West Africa, for an exciting class that combines dance, live drumming, rhythm, movement, and cultural exploration into one unforgettable experience.
Students will:
- Learn authentic West African dance routines
- Play traditional drumming rhythms that tell stories
- Explore body percussion using hands, feet, body, and voice
- Build coordination, confidence, focus, memory, and rhythm
- Experience the joy of making music and moving together as a community
No previous dance or music experience is needed—just curiosity, energy, and a willingness to have fun.
This is an active, welcoming class where students will experience the rich traditions of West African music and dance while developing coordination, creativity, and confidence in a supportive environment.
