Romeo & Juliet and Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto

Violinist Steven Moeckel performs Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, which packs more melody into thirty-nine minutes than most composers managed in a lifetime. The second half offers eight movements drawn from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet ballet suites, ranging from the propulsive energy of street scenes and dances to the stillness of the tomb scene that ends the program.
