STEAM Art Explorers! For Ages 5-8 With Emily Knickerbocker

MONTROSE AFTER SCHOOL ART SESSION 1
(5 WEEKS • OCTOBER 23 – NOVEMBER 20)

Join us for a 5-week course that explores the intersection of art, science, technology, engineering, and math! In this hands-on art class, students will experiment with creative processes that turn scientific concepts into exciting works of art.

Through a variety of fun projects, students will investigate chemical reactions, motion, light, color, and patterns. Projects include creating fizzy paintings using bubbling chemical reactions, experimenting with movement and gravity through pendulum painting, designing kaleidoscopes to explore symmetry and reflection, and making colorful lava lamps to investigate density and liquid interactions. Students will also take on collaborative challenges, activities, and movement games to build creativity, experimentation, problem-solving, and teamwork. With encouragement and plenty of opportunities to experiment, students will grow their artistic skills and confidence while embracing their creativity. Come explore how ordinary materials can transform through the magic of science and art!
