Stephen Bishop • David Pack • Nelson Band • Ray Parker Jr. – Live in Aspen (2 Nights Only)

    About This Event

Stephen Bishop returns to the stage after seven years for two unforgettable nights at the historic Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, CO on September 12th and 13th. Joined by his longtime friends and multi-platinum hitmakers David Pack (formerly of Ambrosia) and the Nelson Band (Gunnar & Matthew Nelson), with a special appearance by the legendary Ray Parker Jr., this is a rare gathering of iconic voices from one of the most beloved eras in music. The night will feature timeless hits including “On and On,” “It Might Be You,” “Biggest Part of Me,” “How Much I Feel,” “(Can’t Live Without Your) Love and Affection,” a tribute to Ricky Nelson with “Garden Party,” and the global smash “Ghostbusters.” Backed by an all-star band, this high-energy show delivers world-class musicianship and songs that defined generations. Two nights only. Aspen. Do not miss it. Stephen Bishop is still touring all these years later and his performance is a real treat. The guitar-wielding veteran is just as talented with his instrument as when he began his career back in 1966. The humble performer has had an interesting career and is happy to share tales with his audiences so if you're interested in not just this musician, but musical history, it's a show definitely worth seeing. The singer/songwriter now seems far more content to perform his folk stylings for the love of music and entertaining, his falsetto voice is still sounding great and the minimal support really shows off his talents as an artist. He's been steadily releasing albums throughout his career so you're sure to hear a mix of old and new material, including "On and On, Save it For A Rainy Day, and his two Oscar-nominated songs, Separate Lives and It Might Be You." Bishop has just completed a string of dates, yet keep an eye on his page as he is definitely an artist worth catching as he shows no sign of slowing pace. Stephen Bishop, a songwriter since the age of thirteen, left his home in San Diego for Los Angeles at seventeen. He got a job as a staff songwriter at E.H. Morris Publishing for fifty dollars a week. Years later, this veteran songwriter has had his songs recorded by Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, Art Garfunkel, Barbra Streisand, Kenny Loggins, Beyonce, Pavarotti, David Crosby and many others. Over the years, film fans have long treasured Bishop’s appearances in pictures such as Kentucky Fried Movie, The Blues Brothers, Twilight Zone: The Movie and, of course, his legendary cameo as the “Charming Guy with Guitar” in National Lampoon’s Animal House, which he did the theme to. In addition to “Separate Lives” from the movie White Nights, he’s contributed songs for other films, such as Tootsie, The China Syndrome, Roadie, Mickie & Maude and Unfaithfully Yours, among others. Stephen is a two-time Grammy nominated recording artist and Oscar nominated singer-songwriter. His hits include, “On and On,” “It Might Be You” (the theme from Tootsie), “Separate Lives,” “Save it For A Rainy Day” and more. In total Stephen has written 650+ songs, released 19 albums, sold over 15+ million records worldwide for himself and 100+ million for other singer-songwriters. His music has been streamed over 500+ million times. He just released his long-awaited biography, titled, "On and Off." www.stephenbishop.com
