About this event
Emergency Management: City, County, and Sheriff’s Posse
Fire? Flood? Active shooter? Airplane mishap? Hiking fall? We’ve had them all! But who deals with them…and the aftermath?
We hope you will join us on Wednesday, September 9th, from 8:00-9:00 AMas the Montrose Forum welcomes: City of Montrose Emergency Manager Paul Eller; Montrose County Emergency Manager Kristy Mathews; and Montrose County Sheriff’s Posse Director and Public Information Officer Mark Rackay.
Our speakers will describe:
- Their job, “team”, purpose and specific duties
- Specific examples of the types of “emergencies” they encounter
- The biggest challenges they face or have faced
- How we can sign up for emergency notifications
We will conclude by learning about JABOR Emergency Go Kit Project, Jeff Pryor, speaker. JABOR is in the process of assembling 200 Emergency Go Kits for low-income and vulnerable families living in high-risk areas of Montrose, Ouray, and San Miguel counties.
All four groups have seen lots of action in the past year. Come hear what they have to say…and use this opportunity to offer up a thank you before you leave.
Upcoming Programs
- September 16 – Montrose County Sheriff Gene Lillard
