About this event

2026 Election Information and Voter Forum Part One

Election Day Is Tuesday, November 3, 2026, and Colorado voters will have a lot to consider when they receive their ballots. With ballots being mailed the week of October 5, the timing of this Forum couldn’t be better.

This year’s ballot includes races for federal, state and county offices, including U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representative, Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Treasurer and the Colorado General Assembly. In addition, voters will be asked to make decisions on numerous statewide ballot measures, and Montrose City residents will be asked to vote on proposed changes to the City Charter.

Sound Daunting? The Montrose Forum is here to help!

Please join us on Wednesday, October 7 at 9:00 am for our special 2026 Election Information and Voter Forum Part One designed to help voters better understand the election process and the issues they will see on their ballots.

This WILL NOT be a candidate Forum. “2026 Election Information and Voter Forum Part Two” on October 14th will feature the candidates running for office.

• On October 7th The Forum is pleased to welcome Tressa Guynes, Montrose County Clerk and Recorder, who will provide important information about voting in Montrose County, including what voters need to know as Election Day approaches.

• Following Tressa’s presentation, Jan Edwards, a representative from the League of Women Voters, will walk attendees through the 14 statewide ballot measures Colorado voters will be asked to consider. Her presentation will be informational and unbiased, explaining in straightforward terms what a “YES” vote means and what a “NO” vote means on each measure.

We encourage you to bring your 2026 State Ballot Information Booklet (aka Blue Book) so you can follow along during the discussion.

We hope to see you!

Please Note: The Forum begins at 9:00 am This reflects our winter schedule which will last through April. For this session, CMU Montrose has graciously allowed us access for an additional hour so that all statewide and local ballot issues can be given ample time for presentation.

No campaigning. No telling you how to vote. The goal is to provide you with information so you can make informed decisions.

👉 The Forum meets from 9:00-10:00 am starting in October

  • October 14 – November 2026 Candidates – including candidate presentations by all County candidates plus Jeff Hurd, Dwayne Romero, and Larry Don Sukla
