Snowmass Packed with Music, Science, and Wine Events This September

The Aspen Times reports that the village is stacking high-profile events back-to-back, starting with the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Experience from Sept. 4–6. The lineup includes major names like Benson Boone, Tim McGraw, and Bonnie Raitt, all performing at the open-air stages in Snowmass Town Park. For context, this isn’t a small local gig; it’s a multi-day production that draws crowds from across the region.

Then there is the new Science in Snowmass weekend on Sept. 11–12. This is a free, two-day celebration focused on paleontology, climatology, and astronomy. The program includes hikes with the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies and a special tour of Ziegler Reservoir with the Aspen Science Center. Julia Theisen, tourism director for Snowmass Tourism, noted in a press release that the goal is to let people "discover something new and celebrate what makes Snowmass special." On paper, that sounds like a great way to engage the community. In practice, it means another large-scale gathering in the same park where the jazz concerts are happening just a week prior.

The schedule continues with the Snowmass Wine Festival on Sept. 19. This is a 20+ year tradition featuring 30+ tables of wine from around the world, hosted under the tents in the village square from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event also features local restaurants, music, and a silent auction benefiting the Rotary Club of Snowmass.
