ABATEMENT HEARING

May 14, 2026
All Board of Equalization hearings are open to the public unless otherwise noted.
Hearings will be held at 522 Lincoln Avenue, Steamboat Springs, in the
Commissioners' Hearing Room, 3rd floor of the Historic Courthouse, or otherwise
noted. When attending remotely, please join 5 minutes before the start of your
scheduled time.

OVERVIEW OF HEARING PROCEDURES

The hearing officer, having been appointed by the Board of County Commissioners as
an independent referee, will conduct the hearing. No discussion of taxes will be
allowed, as the subject matter of the hearings is in relation to property valuation
and/or classification. The procedure for each hearing is as follows; both sides will
have the opportunity to present their evidence, and then the hearing officer will
have a chance to ask questions of both parties and determine their recommendation.
