Applications for city of Aspen's 2027 Nonprofit Grant Cycle Open Oct. 6
Aspen, CO — The city of Aspen will open applications on Oct. 6 for the 2027 nonprofit grant cycle and will accept applications through Dec. 10. Nonprofit organizations providing high-impact services and programming throughout Aspen and the greater Roaring Fork Valley are encouraged to apply.
For nearly 30 years, the city has partnered with nonprofit organizations to strengthen the community through arts and culture, health and human services, and community programs that enhance quality of life. Since 1996, the city’s grant program has invested more than $33 million into nonprofit organizations serving residents throughout the area.
This year, the funding opportunities include standard cash grants in the community nonprofit and health and human services divisions; mini grants in community nonprofit and arts and culture; and in-kind support through participating city facilities.
As part of the city’s ongoing commitment to supporting long-term organizational sustainability, the grant program will continue its transition to multi-year funding. Following the successful introduction of two-year funding terms in arts and culture, the community nonprofit division will also offer standard cash grants with two-year funding terms. The intent of this approach is to provide greater funding stability and allow organizations to spend more time advancing their missions and less time applying for grants.
To ensure annual funding opportunities remain available as standard grants transition to multi-year cycles, the city is expanding its mini-grant program. Designed for requests of $5,000 or less, mini grants provide a streamlined application, review, and reporting process, making funding more accessible for smaller organizations and emerging community initiatives. The program builds on the success of the community nonprofit mini-grant pilot, which received positive feedback from participating organizations for reducing administrative barriers while maintaining accountability.
Nonprofits interested in applying are encouraged to review eligibility requirements, funding opportunities, and evaluation criteria. If you know of a nonprofit making a difference in the community, encourage them to visit the City’s grants webpage.
