Aspen Recreation Center reopens following closure for renovations
Aspen, CO – The Aspen Recreation Center reopened as of Oct. 1 following closures for critical infrastructure improvements. The ARC aquatics center was closed from June 1 through Sept. 30 for repairs to the pool deck and drainage system, while the full facility was closed from Sept. 1 through Sept. 30 for the second phase of the project with repairs to the mechanical room, sewer pipe repairs and a deep cleaning.
The renovation addressed facility needs to extend the useful life of the building and amenities. The completed work helped bring the ARC into its best condition since the facility opened more than 20 years ago.
The city of Aspen and ARC staff are excited to welcome back community members and appreciate the public's patience and understanding as staff and project teams completed the work.
