CDOT to conduct routine safety inspection of Castle Creek Bridge

Alternating traffic and brief delays expected Sept. 16

Aspen, CO – The Colorado Department of Transportation will conduct a routine biannual safety inspection of the Castle Creek Bridge on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

The inspection is part of CDOT’s routine statewide bridge inspection schedule. Inspections are conducted every two years to evaluate bridge conditions and help ensure ongoing safety and compliance with National Bridge Inspection Standards.

Work will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to avoid peak traffic times. Motorists and residents should expect alternating single-lane traffic controlled by flaggers, brief traffic holds and minor delays while crews conduct the inspection.

Drivers are encouraged to plan for additional travel time and use caution when traveling through the inspection area.
