The City of Grand Junction hosts a free Theatre in the Park event on September 19 at Watson Island Amphitheater featuring a performance by The Theatre Project.

The City of Grand Junction and the Grand Junction Commission on Arts & Culture (GJCAC) are excited to host Theatre in the Park in collaboration with The Theatre Project on Saturday, September 19. The event will take place at Watson Island Amphitheater, located south of the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens. Activities will begin at noon, with the performance starting at 1 p.m.

This free, family-friendly event will feature The Theatre Project performing Seusspeare: Much Ado About Everything, a clever one-act performance that combines the brilliance of Shakespeare with the silliness of Dr. Seuss for a contemporary twist on one of Shakespeare’s most famous comedies.

A local food truck will have snacks available for purchase. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or low-back lawn chair to enjoy the show.

The GJCAC is dedicated to building and enhancing the value of art in the community by increasing opportunities for cultural and interactive events. Theatre in the Park provides a free opportunity for families and community members to experience the performing arts in a fun and welcoming outdoor setting.

The Theatre Project of Grand Junction is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) community theatre company that provides theatre and musical theatre education programs and performance opportunities for all ages. The organization works to cultivate creativity, encourage community involvement in the performing arts, and foster an appreciation for theatre and arts education.
