Durango, CO: **City Councilors are scheduled to hold a public hearing Tuesday to consider the renewal, or suspension and revocation of the business license for High Trestle Brewing doing business as Durango Beer and Ice Company.
High Trestle Brewing holds a valid city business license and is required under city code to file periodic sales tax returns. Despite automated reminders, the business failed to file returns or remit sales tax beginning in June 2025. After a Notice of Violation was issued on April 30, 2026, the business paid taxes for October 2025 through February 2026 but did not file returns or remit taxes for July–September 2025. Additionally, the business previously held a state-issued Fermented Malt Beverage Wholesale and Manufacturer license, both of which expired in September 2024.
Councilors will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday, July 6, at 5:30 p.m. at council chambers, 949 East Second Ave., where they will also:
Recognize July as Parks and Recreation Month. Durango Parks and Recreation will celebrate with an open house at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Avenue, on July 17 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Receive an Update on the city’s water supply from Public Works Director John Harris. Harris will discuss Governor Jared Polis activating phase 3 of Colorado’s Drought Response plan and what that will mean for Durango.
Receive an update for May on Flock camera statistics from Durango Police Chief Brice Current. In May, Durango police flock searches totaled 696, with nearly 40% being related to motor vehicle theft.
Vote on the second round of Lodgers’ Tax Arts and Culture grant recommendations.
Vote on a resolution that would officially adopt the Vision Zero Plan. The plan is a global traffic safety strategy that aims to eliminate all traffic fatalities and serious injuries.
