Delta County Commissioners adopted a proclamation on September 1, 2026, recognizing September as Suicide Prevention Month and supporting local mental health initiatives.

**DELTA COUNTY, Colo. —**The Delta County Board of County Commissioners adopted a proclamation Tuesday, September 1, recognizing September 2026 as Suicide Prevention Month in Delta County.

Kaisa Simon of Thrive Community Health Network, formerly Tri-County Health Network, joined the Board for the presentation. The proclamation recognizes suicide as a preventable public health issue and emphasizes the importance of education, connection, accessible mental health and substance-use services, and compassionate support for people and families affected by suicide.

The proclamation also recognizes the work of Thrive Community Health Network and the Suicide Prevention, Awareness and Recovery Coalition, known as SPARC. The coalition brings community members and professionals together to support suicide prevention, increase awareness, reduce stigma and connect residents with resources.

Through the proclamation, the Board expressed its support for efforts that normalize asking for help, address disparities in access to mental health care and strengthen the community’s response following a suicide loss.

“No matter the storm, we weather it together” reflects the central message of the proclamation: help is available, recovery is possible and no one should have to struggle alone.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health or substance-use crisis, call or text 988 to connect with trained support. Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
