Grand Junction, CO – First responders with the Grand Junction Police Department and Grand Junction Fire Department responded to serious injury crash on Ute Avenue at approximately 10:50 a.m. on July 24, 2026.
911 dispatchers with the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center received reports of two vehicles racing on Ute Avenue prior to the crash. Preliminary investigation by the Grand Junction Police Department determined two vehicles were traveling westbound in the 1200 block of Ute Avenue at a high rate of speed when they lost control and crashed.
One driver was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, and the other driver was evaluated on scene by the Grand Junction Fire Department.
This crash remains under investigation, and there is no additional information available at this time.
