GJPD Makes Arrest in Domestic Violence Incident

Grand Junction, CO – On July 22, 2026, at approximately 1:25 p.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to an assault in progress in the 2800 block of Rock Creek Drive.

Upon arriving on scene, officers quickly took a male into custody after learning that an ongoing domestic dispute between the male and a female had escalated into a physical altercation. Through investigation, officers determined the male suspect physically assaulted the female, prevented her from leaving the residence, and threatened to kill her. The suspect, identified as 48-year-old Steven Vogan, was arrested and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility where he was booked on the following charges:

  • Domestic Violence

  • False Imprisonment

  • Criminal Attempt to Commit Assault in the Second Degree with Injury – Deadly Weapon

  • Assault in the Third Degree

The investigation into this case remains ongoing, and there is no additional information available at this time.
