Affordable Housing Dashboard

Stay Connected to Housing in Steamboat Springs

Housing challenges have intensified over the past 15 years across Steamboat Springs, creating significant impacts for residents, employers, and the broader community. Housing costs have risen far faster than wages, making it increasingly difficult for local workers, young families, and modest-income households to find and maintain housing in the community they serve. As a result, employers face workforce shortages, residents are being displaced, and the character of Steamboat Springs is changing.

In response, the city and its partners are advancing a range of housing solutions to increase attainable housing opportunities and preserve community vitality. New developments are adding much-needed units, but demand continues to outpace supply. Through strategic investments, deed restrictions, zoning updates, development incentives, inclusionary housing requirements, and funding generated from Short-Term Rentals, Steamboat Springs is building a comprehensive approach to ensure the people who work here can continue to live here.

The Affordable Housing Dashboard, a joint venture with Steamboat for All and North Arrow, tracks progress toward that goal and highlights the ongoing work needed to meet community housing needs.
