Overnight parking restrictions in downtown Aspen in effect
**Aspen, CO – **The city of Aspen reminds residents, visitors, and downtown employees that no parking is allowed in the commercial core between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. from Nov. 1 through April 1.
This is an hour less than last year which was enforced from 3 a.m. – 7 a.m. and helps support local businesses and community members who open early or recreate early.
To help keep city streets safe and clear this winter, the parking, streets, and police departments are working together to enforce this restriction.
Warnings will be issued Nov. 1 through Nov. 15. After that, $100 tickets will be issued. Vehicles parked overnight during a snow event will be subject to being towed, with fees up to $260.
Keeping streets clear overnight allows city crews to remove snow efficiently, maintain proper drainage, and reduce hazards for drivers, pedestrians, and the city staff working in winter conditions.
Additionally, parking configurations have changed on Hopkins Avenue between Hunter and Galena streets, and on Galena Street between Main Street and Hopkins Avenue. Due to Armory Hall construction, these areas have shifted from angle to parallel parking. Please follow posted signage and park only in designated spaces.
