ROUTT COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION
FINAL MINUTES
JULY 16, 2026
The meeting of the Routt County Planning Commission was called to order at
6:00 p.m. with the following members present: Chair Steve Warnke and
Commissioners David Miller, Nick Belz, Brian Kelly, Andrew Benjamin, Jim
DeFrancia, and Tim Sullivan. Commissioners Linda Miller, Bill Norris, Robin
Schepper, and David Hoffman were absent. Staff planner Greg Jaeger also
attended. Sarah Katherman prepared the minutes.
PUBLIC COMMENT
There was no public comment.
MINUTES – July 2, 2026
Commissioner DeFrancia moved to approve the above cited minutes, as written.
Commissioner Belz seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
CONSENT AGENDA

MOTION
Commissioner DeFrancia moved to approve the consent agenda, as
presented. Commissioner Belz seconded the motion. The consent
agenda was approved 7 - 0, with the Chair voting yes.

ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT
Mr. Jaeger said that there is nothing scheduled at this time for the regular August
6 meeting, so it is unlikely there will be a meeting.
Chair Warnke asked about the process for removing the notice signs on
properties after the petition has been heard. Mr. Jaeger said that the petitioner
must return the sign prior to being issued their permit or pay a fine.
Chair Warnke asked if the homeowners’ association is notified when a lot
consolidation is approved. Mr. Jaeger said that they are notified of the
application, but not notified after the decision has been made.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
