Beginning Monday, September 28, contractors working on the nearby Hub apartment project will be closing Cobble Dr between 6450 Rd and Chipeta Rd for construction of waterline extensions and tie-ins. Waterline work is expected to be completed Tuesday afternoon, and Cobble Drive will reopen to traffic with a temporary driving surface.
Following completion of work on Cobble Dr, the contractor will begin work on 6450 Rd with closures between Sanctuary Dr and Cobble Dr for construction of additional waterline and sewerline tie-ins. This work is currently projected to begin on Wednesday, September 30. Work on 6450 Rd is expected to be completed by mid-October. Access to the Cobble Creek community, via either Cobble Dr or 6450 Rd, will be maintained at all times.
After utility crossings are complete, the contractor will begin working on road frontage improvements along 6450 Rd and Cobble Dr. This work is planned to occur from the shoulder of the road and will include storm drain improvements, concrete curb and gutter, and sidewalk extensions. Once concrete work is complete, another closure of Cobble Dr and 6450 Rd will be required for permanent asphalt patching. Permanent patching is currently projected to occur in mid-November and will also happen one road at a time to maintain neighborhood access.
The city asks that all motorists, pedestrians, and golf carts please respect all work zones and detours. Accommodations for pedestrian and golf cart traffic at path crossings will also be maintained throughout construction.
