Beginning Tuesday, September 15, contractors working for the City of Montrose will begin sewer main construction on Hwy 50/San Juan Ave. Work will start at the intersection of San Juan Ave and 6530 Rd and progress south, then east, and conclude at the intersection of Main St and Hillcrest Dr.
With the exception of several overnight closures for final tie-ins and water valve insertions, all work will occur during daytime hours and will maintain at least one through lane of traffic in each direction. As work progresses, completed areas will be temporarily patched with sacrificial asphalt to restore traffic flow until final paving can take place. Construction will extend into the summer of 2027, with a planned winter shutdown generally from November to March.
The city asks that all motorists and pedestrians respect all work zones and detours.
