Warrant Arrest Leads to Drug and Weapon Charges

Chad Weaver was arrested on an outstanding warrant and charged with unlawful possession of over four grams of methamphetamine and a deadly weapon.

Grand Junction, CO – On August 29, 2026, at approximately 7:50 a.m., officers were conducting routine patrol when they contacted a wanted individual.

Officers contacted 46-year-old Chad Weaver standing next to a truck in the area of 29 ½ Road and Patterson Road and placed him into custody on an outstanding warrant. Officers located suspected methamphetamine on Weaver’s person and in his truck. Upon further search, officers located two firearms, additional illicit drugs, and drug paraphernalia. In total, officers seized close to 42 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Weaver was transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility where he was booked on his active warrant and the following additional charges:

  • Special Circumstances Defendant Person in Within Reach of Deadly Weapon

  • Unlawful Possession of >4g Controlled Substance Schedule I/II

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

The investigation into this incident remains ongoing, and there is no additional information available at this time.
