**Steamboat Springs, Colorado-August 31, 2026-**Yellow Zone, the free, door-to-door microtransit service serving Steamboat Springs, will launch an updated rider app September 8, providing a refreshed look and a simpler booking experience.
“We’re always looking for ways to make getting around Steamboat Springs easier,” Transit Manager Jonathan Flint. “This update gives riders a cleaner, more streamlined way to book their trips without changing anything about the free service they already know and rely on.”
The service itself is not changing. Riders will continue to have access to free, on-demand transportation throughout the Yellow Zone service area during the same hours of operation.
The updated app will feature a refreshed look and feel, along with an improved booking flow designed to make requesting a ride faster and more intuitive. While the app experience is changing, the Yellow Zone service riders know will remain the same. Rides will continue to be completely free, with the same service area and hours of operation.
Starting Sept. 8, current riders will be prompted in the app to update to the latest version by tapping “Update.” New riders can download the app as usual to begin booking free rides.
Yellow Zone provides accessible, on-demand transportation for residents and visitors in Steamboat Springs. Riders can request a trip through the Yellow Zone app or by calling 970-833-4438.
Service operates daily from 7 a.m. to 6:20 p.m. and connects downtown Steamboat Springs with nearby neighborhoods. Transfers are required for trips to West Steamboat, the ski area and condominium areas.
Yellow Zone is part of the Steamboat Springs Transit system, which provides more than 620,000 annual road miles through a combination of fixed-route, regional and curb-to-curb services. The system operates a fleet of 15 transit buses, four regional buses and one curb-to-curb paratransit shuttle, supported by approximately 50 full-time and seasonal drivers.
