Afternoon Lightning is a bouldering problem located in The Joint Boulder area near Crested Butte, Colorado. It is rated V6 and 7A, placing it in the moderate to difficult range for experienced climbers. The problem is situated on a large boulder featuring a 45 to 50 degree overhang, positioned near the edge of an aspen grove. Access is via a bike trail, with entry recommended from the north to avoid private property restrictions at the southern entrance. Parking is available nearby, and pets are permitted on site. The climbing area operates year-round, with January through December considered in-season conditions. Climbers should expect a duration of approximately four hours for the excursion.
