Alpha Tower is a rock climbing destination located in Palisade, Colorado, on the Western Slope. The site consists of dirt towers composed of compressed shale capped with sandstone, visible along Interstate 70 as one drives past Palisade. These formations were instigated by climbers Pete Takeda and Duane Raleigh in 992 and 1993. The climbing difficulty is rated as moderate. The site sits at an elevation of 8,977 feet. Parking is available on site, and the area is pet friendly. Access is year-round, though winter conditions may require additional precautions and equipment.
