About

The Antichamber is a specific sport climbing route located in Rifle Mountain Park, approximately 100 feet past Ruckman Cave. The route ascends a dirt pinnacle below a cave feature on the cliff face. Classified as moderate with a grade of 5.9, the route consists of five bolts over roughly 80 feet. The rock quality is described as generally dirty, which may make the climb feel harder than its grade suggests. The upper section involves marginal rock leading to easier 3rd Class terrain. The belay station is noted as exposed and loose; climbers are advised to consider belaying lower down. There are no fixed anchors at the top, so lowering is done off the first two bolts of the adjacent 'Cooch' route. Parking is available in designated areas within Rifle Mountain Park, but visitors must purchase a daily or season entry pass. The area is open year-round.
