About

Big Baldy Statue is a large bald eagle sculpture located at the intersection of US-6 and Tenderfoot Street in Dillon, Colorado. The site features a small parking lot adjacent to the statue, providing easy access to the Summit County Recreation Path and the shore of Dillon Reservoir. Visitors can view boats on the water from this vantage point. The statue was donated by Jim Dover, a former Town of Dillon Council Member. The area is open daily from sunrise until one hour after sunset. Dogs are permitted on leash, and visitors must pick up after their pets. While the database lists the hike as moderate with an estimated duration of 2 hours and an elevation of 9,063 feet, the physical location is a roadside attraction rather than a remote trailhead. The site is pet-friendly and offers free parking.
