Binge is a rock climbing destination on Grand Mesa, located in Western Colorado near Grand Junction. The site sits at an elevation of 10,005 feet and is characterized by difficult climbing routes. The area features hard, volcanic basalt rock that has been capped by lava flows approximately 10 million years ago. This basalt cap protects the underlying sedimentary rock, creating steep buttresses and walls with high-quality stone. The terrain is generally highly fractured, though larger volcanic flow events have deposited layers of basalt up to 70 feet thick in specific areas, forming featured walls suitable for climbing. Access is available year-round from January through December. Climbers should expect challenging conditions, with potential snow and ice during winter months and warmer temperatures in summer. The site offers on-site parking and allows pets. A typical visit involves approximately 4 hours of activity. The climbing experience is described as strenuous, with routes that vary in technical difficulty but consistently present a difficult challenge to climbers. The area is accessible via drives from Grand Junction, with routes leading south on CO Highway 65 or east on Kannah Creek Road to the western edge of the Palisade Lobe.
