Bridal Veil Falls in Telluride is the tallest free-falling waterfall in Colorado, plunging 365 feet. Hikers can access the base via the newly completed Bridal Veil Creek Trail or ascend via the historic Bridal Veil Road. The creek trail is a scenic alternative that meanders up the valley from a parking area near the Idarado Mining Company settling ponds. The road route involves a dirt and gravel jeep road that switchbacks up the northeast wall of the box canyon. Views include the waterfall, the historic 1907 power plant perched on a ledge above the falls, and the Telluride Valley. The power plant is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The trail is generally considered moderately challenging and is popular for hiking and trail running. Best times to visit are May through October. Parking is available at the trailhead.
