About

The Brush Creek & HWY 82 Intercept Lot is a primary transit hub and parking area in Aspen, Colorado, situated at the intersection of Highway 82 and Brush Creek Road. It serves as a starting point for hiking and biking, most notably providing access to the paved Brush Creek Trail. This trail leads hikers under Highway 82 via a path on the south or east side of the lot, connecting toward Snowmass Village and the base of the ski area. The lot offers free parking year-round and functions as a Park-and-Ride station for RFTA buses, allowing visitors to take transit to Aspen, Snowmass Village, or the four ski mountains without paying for vehicle access at the slopes. Amenities at the lot include bike racks and public restrooms. The terrain is generally paved and multi-use, suitable for a moderate outing. Hikers should be aware of potential avalanche conditions in the wider area and check forecasts before venturing into adjacent backcountry zones. The location is approximately five miles outside downtown Aspen.
