About
Butterline is a short, easy mountain biking connector trail in Aspen, Colorado, linking Buttermilk Ski Area to the Sky Mountain Park trail system. The route follows the alignment of a historic ditch parallel to Owl Creek Road and the airport runway. It is a bike-only singletrack with gentle grades, wide tread, and optional skill-building features like rocks for jumps or drops. The trail is suitable for riders of all levels and is pet-friendly. Parking is available at the Buttermilk main lot. The trail is accessible from April through October. Riders crossing Owl Creek Road at the northern end should watch for high-speed traffic. The area features oak brush and sage meadows with views, though the busy roadway is not always visible from the trail.
