The Carbon Junction Trail is a 2.1-mile, moderate multi-use path located in Durango, Colorado, managed by the City of Durango. It serves as part of the Grandview Ridge Trail System, connecting to the Horse Gulch and Telegraph networks. The trail features dirt surfaces and elevation ranging from 6,457 to 7,087 feet with a total gain of 630 feet. It is open to hiking, biking, trail running, and horses, but excludes motorized vehicles. The trailhead is accessible via a short drive from downtown Durango: head west on 9th Street, turn left onto Camino Del Rio (Highway 550), veer left onto Highway 160 East, then turn left onto Dominguez Drive and right onto Carbon Junction (Frontage Road) until the dirt parking area appears. Parking is available. The trail is generally open year-round, though conditions vary with seasonal weather, including potential snow and ice in winter months.
