About
Cement Creek Campground is a rustic, fee-based site in the Gunnison National Forest, located approximately 7.5 miles southeast of Crested Butte off Highway 135. Access requires driving 4 miles on Forest Road 740, which is unpaved and dirt-heavy. The campground contains 13 campsites arranged along a single loop, with creek-side sites being the most popular. Facilities include two pit toilets and a camp host who sells firewood and collects trash. The site operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a fee of $16 per night. It serves as a trailhead for hiking, mountain biking, and OHV riding, though the adjacent road sees ATV and dirt bike traffic. Bears are present, requiring proper food storage. Cell service is spotty across major carriers.
