Chicken Out Arete is a moderate trad climbing route in the Northwest Corner of Glenwood Springs, located near the Colorado River. The climb is approximately 60 feet long and sits at an elevation of roughly 7,100 feet. It is positioned to the left of the Railroad Tracks Cracks and receives sun from mid-day through early evening. The route begins with a crux protected by two bolts, followed by a mantle onto a narrow ledge. Climbers then move right to plug a #1 Camalot into a wide crack and continue up a ramp with finger-sized pockets. The route shares its top anchor with the Railroad Arete. Parking is available at the base, and pets are permitted. The area offers year-round climbing opportunities.
