Hikers traverse forested switchbacks and meadows to reach Crater Lake, situated in a basin at the base of North Twilight Peak. From the lake, the trail ascends via social trails and a ridge scramble to the summit of North Twilight Peak. The hike is classified as difficult due to the distance and elevation change, with a typical duration of 10 hours. Parking is available at Andrews Lake, and vault toilets are present in the upper parking area. The trailhead road is not plowed during winter, and navigation can be challenging in snow conditions.
