About

Deathly Hollow is a sport climbing area located on the Western Slope of Colorado, near Palisade. The site features granite slab climbing characterized by smearing and edging holds, slopers, and crimps. The terrain is described as sustained with hand-free stances. A notable feature is a giant perched flake to the right of the anchors, which climbers are advised to avoid. The primary route is a 60-foot (18-meter) sport climb with eight bolts leading to chain anchors. The area is situated on a south-facing slab at the west end of Subskull. Access to Deathly Hollow has been open since 2023, following previous closures related to the Cameron Peak Fire and dead tree hazards on Storm Mountain Road. Parking is available at the site, and pets are permitted.
