About

Dr. C, also known as Dr. C’s Classroom, is a rock climbing area located on the Grand Mesa in Western Colorado. The site sits at an elevation of approximately 10,000 to 10,061 feet. The climbing takes place on hard, volcanic basalt that caps the mesa. While the general basalt field is often highly fractured, this specific area features layers deposited by large volcanic flow events, creating steep walls with good rock quality. The area is rated as difficult, requiring experienced climbers. Access is facilitated by parking available on site. Pets are permitted. The climbing season extends year-round, from January through December.
