About

Duet is a rock climbing area in Rifle, Colorado, located on the Western Slope. The site sits at an elevation of 6,149 feet and offers difficult sport climbing routes. The rock is limestone, characterized by pockets, tufa, and blocky walls that provide varied climbing from slightly overhanging to steep. Routes here are generally long and require endurance, featuring large flat holds, crimps, and pinches. The area is known for high-quality hard sport climbing, with a concentration of routes graded 5.12 and above. While traditionally difficult, newer easier routes have been added following a change in the city's bolting policy. Parking is available, and pets are allowed. The site is accessible year-round, though it sees higher traffic on weekends from May through September.
