Key crags include X-Rock, located just north of city limits near Highway 550 and known for its distinctive natural 'X' on the face, and East Animas, which offers longer routes with views of the La Plata Mountains. Other notable areas include Golf Wall and Cascade Canyon for steep sport climbing, as well as Lemon Reservoir and Hermosa. The difficulty range is moderate to challenging, suitable for novice through advanced climbers. Parking is available at major access points like X-Rock and East Animas, with some areas requiring a short uphill approach or crossing private land. The climate allows for year-round climbing, with consistent conditions from January to December.
