About
Fuzzy Babies is a 30-foot sport climbing route located in Rifle Mountain Park, near Rifle, Colorado. The route sits on sandstone, characterized by sharp ridge features and flakes that can pull off if handled roughly. The hardest moves are concentrated at the bottom; after the initial section, the route eases into a cruise to the top anchors. Protection consists of bolts along the entire length. The route is accessible via a trail approximately 2 km long leading to a large arch. To locate the route, stay on the main trail to the arch, then turn east at the base of the face where it meets the scree. Traverse across the gully to the bottom of the massive rock formation on the other side. The route is positioned just to the left of a route bolted with older, rustic bolts, near the west edge of the massive formation. Parking is available on site. The area is pet-friendly. While Rifle Mountain Park is generally crowded on weekends from May through September, this specific moderate route offers a distinct experience from the park's higher-grade limestone sport climbing.
