The Grandview Ridge & Horse Gulch Loop is a short, easy hiking trail in Durango, Colorado. It connects the Grandview Ridge and Horse Gulch trail systems near downtown. The route is approximately 0.6 miles long with an elevation of 6,487 feet. Hikers can complete the loop in under 20 minutes. The trail is flat and suitable for all skill levels. Parking is available at the Sale Barn or Big Canyon Trailhead. The area is open year-round, though some trails close in winter for wildlife protection from December 1 to April 30. Visitors can see American Robins, Blue-gray gnatcatchers, Great Horned Owls, and Red-tailed hawks. The trail features singletrack, dirt roads, and a section of concrete-paved Animas River Trail. The terrain includes juniper and oak brush with scattered rocks.
