The area serves as a base for accessing nearby climbing zones, including the desert sandstone towers of Colorado National Monument and the granite crack routes of Unaweep Canyon. These locations provide a range of climbing styles, from single-pitch crack climbing to multi-pitch trad routes. The climate supports year-round activity, with specific guided operations running from mid-February through late November.
