The Haflin Creek Trail is a technical singletrack mountain biking route located in Durango, Colorado. It serves as an entry point to the Missionary Ridge trail system, offering a climb through Haflin Canyon that rises approximately 3,000 feet from the Animas Valley floor to the ridge top. The trail is generally considered challenging or difficult, featuring a mix of steady ascent and flowy descent sections. Riders typically spend about one hour on the 3.9-mile segment, though total route lengths vary depending on whether users treat it as a point-to-point connection or an out-and-back journey. The trail is accessible from March through November, with April to October being the primary window for riding. Parking is available at a designated dirt area off County Road 250, reached by traveling east from Durango. The route passes through the remnants of the 2002 Missionary Ridge Fire, where riders should exercise caution on windy days due to standing dead trees. The trail is pet-friendly and allows off-leash dogs in some areas.
