The Hannon Creek Trail is a difficult, multi-use route in Aspen, Colorado, primarily used for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The trail spans approximately 5.3 to 6.4 miles and gains significant elevation, typically around 3,340 feet. It is accessible year-round but requires preparation for snow and ice in winter months. The route features a steep descent along a ridge, contouring through aspen groves noted for having some of the largest aspen trees in the Roaring Fork Valley. Hikers encounter several stream crossings before the trail plunges down to the Lenado Road. The trail offers views of the Elk Mountains and surrounding ski areas. Parking is available at the trailhead, which begins behind a campsite at the top of the Lenado Road. Access can also be achieved via a shuttle from the Lenado Road near mile marker 5 or by hiking up the dirt road through the town of Lenado. The trail may be overgrown and require some route-finding.
