Highland Mary Lakes is a moderate day hike in the Weminuche Wilderness near Silverton, Colorado. The trail climbs 1,000 feet over 4 miles round trip to reach a series of subalpine lakes and tarns in a treeless basin. The route follows Cunningham Creek initially, then connects with the Continental Divide Trail before ascending to the lakes. Elevation reaches approximately 12,100 feet. The trail is accessible year-round, though late summer through fall is typical for wildflower viewing and clearer conditions. Parking is available at the trailhead off County Road 4; the last 0.75 miles of the access road may be rough for 2WD vehicles. Water is available from the lakes and creeks but should be filtered for Giardia. Pets are allowed but must be leashed or under voice control. Camping is permitted in the basin but is prohibited within 100 feet of the lakes or streams. The area is busy and not suitable for solitude seekers.
